I am setting up a new server for my home.  In earlier server versions i did setup a separate dns and dhcp-server, and configured it to update dhcp records into dns. Now is this not the easiest thing to accomplish, especially when you do it one time in about 3 or 4 years... 

So for my new server i was looking for an easier solution.. And its there!  it's called dnsmasq, and here is how...

For the last 3.5 years i have about 3 vm's continously running on my linux 14.04 laptop server (on ssd storage).  I use the vmware player software for this, to be precise currently version 6.0.3 combined with vix v1.13.3 used together with a service script which i will share later. (Never updated..surprise)

Right now i want to install a 'new' laptop, with ubuntu 16.04 with the latest vmware player and vix, and move my vm's to the new station..  So here follows that story, with some interresting issue's...

I have a ldap enabled php app, which is actually a intranet user-search site, what also enables users to change their information and passwords.

However, i've had much problems connecting over ldaps, sometimes it works, but the next moment not.  I have experienced a lot of trouble finding out what the problem was, so i would like to share this with the world.
